What stroller?

Looking for a stroller to replace the Quinny Buzz for day to day use now that junior monkey is 9 months old and happy to stretch out a bit.

Seem to be loads of decent models from £50 up to £200, all of which also have the odd problem or two, e.g. stuff breaks, etc. So we need to narrow this down.

The good lady has spoken to loads of women out n about and for whatever reason she says they recommend the £190 Maclaren. This is now the one she wants + a new car seat blah blah.

Seeing as this is working out to be a very expensive couple of months, I'm thinking about keeping below £100 (but will happily spend more if its justifiable), hence turning to the STW parental massive for advice on anything in said spectrum.

What say you?

Zapps are ace. Much better than McLaren imo.

They fold up really small (shorter than McLaren), the wheels are better than those crappy little ones, they spin on the spot for manoevrability, and look overall less faffy. And they only cost £110.

Micralite Fastfold, WHICH! best buy, we've had one for 5 years and two kids and it is much better than anything else we've come across.

Schoolboy error. You want a pram, they only sell 'strollers' in the USofA.

Fail. Prams are typically for babies, not infants/toddlers.

When was the last time Amazon UK was in the USofA?

Strollers and pushchairs are the next step.

We have the buggy (Buzz) which is pretty good at everything, especially going off-road. But it's too big to keep heaving around between cars etc, plus the monkey is 'tall' enough to stretch out and be more upright.

Got a maclaren quest which am pretty happy with. Our buzz was just waaaay too big for about town type use, still use it for dog walks. You don't really get any problems with maclarens but we are on our 3rd quinny, quality is rubbish in my opinion. The quest is smaller and lighter than the £190 quid one.

We've just got the Petite Star Zia plus. Our monkey is just about to turn 1. Effing great buggy after the Silvercross beast we had before.

As the mrs wanted everything for it(cosy toes, rain cover, protective bag, parasol) we bought it new at about £140

Folds up great and uses hardly any boot space compared to the old one

Micralite, brilliant..... ours has gone through three kids, is about six years old,light, big pneumatic tyres at the rear, will push easily over really quite bad terrain, easy to steer, folds into or out of the car boot with one hand and steers with one hand without veering about all over the place. Much better than everything else we've had or tried.

We had a zapp - was great, only downside is no recline function for when they're asleep, didn't seem to bother our son though.

That McLaren is heavier, larger folded and significantly more expensive than a Zapp.

we've just bought a zapp for our small holiday out and about option - beuase of the fold size and light weight basically.

I think the zapp extra reclines, but not sure if it folds as small and it's a bit dearer.

Cheers guys.

Did loads of research into everything mentioned above (and beyond) and the missus and MIL have just this moment decided on a different Maclaren model. I'm sure it'll do the trick.

Another Zapp fan here, fits in the wife's Picanto boot no problem and light enough for her weedy arms.

We wore the wheels out on the cheapo Babies-r-us one in about 18months, we then wore the wheels out on the low-to-mid-range Mamas and Papas one we had in a further 18months.
I'd look for one with replaceable wheels if such a thing exists...

Got a maclaren quest which am pretty happy with.

We've got the Maclaren Quest Sport:

We specifically bought it for going on holiday because it is nice and light (6.5kg - lighter than a Zapp), folds small (fits in Fiesta boot) and has a shoulder-carry strap.
£155 from Mothercare

all of which also have the odd problem or two

Maclaren give a "Sovereign lifetime warranty" on their stuff.
