Thinking of building another Singlespeed for the winter after running a Voodoo Wanga last winter but sold it as it felt to cramped.
I need a frame with an effective top tube just over 600mm & I don’t want slot dropouts, but would like sliding dropouts.

    Current thinking is these with a 465mm rigid carbon fork or RS SID 120mm fork (already have the SID);
    1. Pace RC104 – large, £520 (bit expensive but beautiful)
    2. Pipedream Sirius – 19.5″ £395(8 week wait & tapered headtube)
    3. Pipedream Scion – 19.5″ £349(Cheaper than both above but needs a tensioner)

    What else should I consider?

What about an ebb? I can recommend a Dialled bikes love/hate. 19.5″ has a 610mm top tube.

Brilliant bike to ride, use mine for my winter bike. I know Mikes knocking them out cheaper at the moment too if you email him.

I could sell you a second hand cotic simple?

    Mail me if interested.

I’ve SS’d my Sanderson Life and would love the same handling, with the ease of a reliable EBB. Lovely frame quality.

Thanks, both look good although the large Love/Hate might be a bit big with a listed 24.4″ ETT, the medium might be better but I’d have a long seatpost.

The Sanderson is listed as 23″ TT in a large – is that actual or effective?

Use a shorter stem maybe? I run my love/hate with a 70mm stem.

How much for the Cotic Simple?

I ran my slidey Inbred with a 470mm (29er) carbon fork, & it was great.

Not sure how tall you are but at 6’2 I find my scion 19.5 and presumably the sirius to be a bit on the small side…

    Nice frame though.

My 20″ Life is 24″ actual (as suggested here), so I reckon actual

5’11” tall – riding a large 23.9″ eff TT (607mm) Turner with in line post & 100mm stem.

So the Sanderson Soloist should have a 600mm+ eff TT if 23″ is actual.

Thanks!! The Soloist & Love/Hate look great.

    Soloist 853 will be even nicer…… 😉

There must be an on-one inbred with dropouts to suit you
    Genesis iO?

The medium (17.5″) Love/Hate is probably the best size for someone 5’11”.

Only got them in Pearl Ivory now.

The soloist is 1″ shorter than the life/breath IIRC. I deliberatelywent with a Life as I wanted a tensioner rather than a potentialy creaky EBB or track ends that would make wheel changes/disk setup a misery. It’s also by far the lightest setup apart form track ends.

I’ve an 18″ Sanderson life I keep thinking of selling (then deciding I like it too much and keeping it!)…………

    Dialed Love/Hate +1

Incredible ride for the money. Had a MK1 “Loved” it.

    Sold it to fund…

Pace RC129. Even better than the Love/hate.

Clown wheels roll so much better and work with my height.

Finish on both frames is top notch and will be having another frame from Dialled

Another vote for the Love/Hate – I’m just under 6′ and ride a medium, superb bike 🙂

The soloist EBB is very good TBH. Great bike.
I was going to get a lovehate because I love my PA but this just ticked all the boxes as well and Merlin had the offer on.

Mmmm, the soloist is £266 VIP at Merlin & the Love/Hate looks nice too but would like the option to put my 120mm forks on when not running rigid.

Salsa Ala Carte? It has swinging dropouts for SS use.

Surly 1×1 is the best SS bike I have ever ridden.

Great value for money, simple effective dropouts.

Also there is the Karate monkey if you fancy big wheels.

Salsa Ala Carte is nice too, but I can’t find any geometry details except for the old versions.
    100mm fork?

the Ala Carte is now an ‘old version’ as they’ve stopped making it for 2012, hence it’s moved to the archives on their site. Importer still has a full range of sizes in though and yes, it’s designed around a 100mm fork. Super sweet bike, as is the El Mariachi if you fancy big wheels.

My Love/Hate arrived yesterday. First impressions are very nice. Got some 440mm On-Ones for it and I think its going to be pretty quick handling like that. 120mm bouncy forks will be getting bought in the spring I suspect. Hopefully On-One/CRC will send me the rest of my bits to finish it by the weekend so I can give it a good 4 hours around Calderdale on Saturday…
