Take a look at the Dirt 100 this year: Alpine 6 is in there, along with Stage 5. I’ve done a few rides on each and both were mint in their own way, but they did both have the X2 shock on them. Ended up buying a 2017 Five which is bloody awesome – just right for me and where/what/how I ride (Calderdale, Lakes, Alps). Nothing wrong with single pivot design – it can just take a bit of getting used to if you’re new to it, and I guess it might not impress quite so many onlookers looking for fancy new sh*t to drool over.
