The wine has been flowing and I have spent a dangerous amount of time on google maps.

Hypothetically speaking, if one was to plot a pan Europe tour (Porto to Milan if you wonder) over a few weeks, what would be the best device to do nav work, and how would you charge it?

Am thinking mostly camping so no b&b each evening but loose possibility of camping power supply.

I’d want something with mapping, a decent screen and would run off AA batteries. Garmin Oregon 600.

2nd on Garmin Oregon, but also look at the Dakota or eTrex series from them too.

If want something for navigation as well as just blindly following a route then a satmap would be better as the screen is bigger. Runs on lithium batteries but also AAs if needed.
