After ruining one of my Fat Alberts last Sunday, I need a new front tyre. I fancy changing purely because the Albert (old model Fat Albert) has identical tread patterns front and rear, whilst the new Fat Albert uses the old pattern as the rear tyre, and has a new one for the front.
I ride in all conditions, and like big volume (2.25 upwards), as I have my bike set up fully rigid unless I'm going to the peaks or similar, in which case I stick a set of 80mm Bombers on. I also like cheap, and I don't like changing tyres. Don't mind wire bead at all. I generally ride round Sherwood Pines, so it's a bit sandy and a bit muddy, and a bit wet.
So, do I go for a £18 Schwalbe Albert 2.35, which I quite liked (mind you, I've only ever ridden Tioga Factory XCs, Panaracer Cinders, Alberts and a nice green Wildgripper when I was a kid), or something else? I can't help but notice that there are loads of cheap Contis on CRC...
£20 is an absolute maximum spend, as I'm a hard up student!
