Ive uploaded some footage from my GoPro into iMovie and put together a video but when I eject the camera the footage disappears from the video, it also won’t let me share on Facebook, it just shows the message – “this item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera”

Not heard of that before but have you transferred the video to the hard drive of your PC and then imported it to iMovie?

Not sure, iMovie asked if i wanted to import so I clicked ok and thats as much as I know??

iMovie is storing it from your camera. As per previous poster, copy it to your hard drive to start editing it first.

When I plug my GoPro in I let iPhoto import all the video / photos. Then from iMovie I just use the “import from iPhoto” tab. May seem convoluted but it works fine.
