I’ve just had a close shave with wellgo MG1 pedal maintenance. They have sealed bearings on the outside and a DU bush on the inside. Mine had stiffened up so I tried dismantling to re-grease. 6mm allen key on the dust cover cap (normal threads) and 8mm socket on the nut beneath but the RH peadal has a left hand thread so I overtightened it. Looks like I’ve got away with it but I thought I would share in case anyone else does the same. I could have easily ruined it if I had continued anticlockwise.

That’s pretty much standard with pedals isn’t it? Same idea as the reverse-thread on the crank arm.

    So have replaced anything?

Mine are really rattly. Is there a service kit or is it new pedal time?

Sorry, that was, have you replaced anything?

I had a Shimano M647 fall apart during a ride this winter..

You’d be able to source the small bearings but I’m pretty sure no one makes replacement bushings.

I have 3 pairs – they do get a bit loose & creaky but I just bung them full of grease.

However I do think one pair is on their last legs so as above they’ll get binned 🙁
