  • US 80s bike company – "American Bicycle"?

    I remember an mtb brand in the 80s, one of the first to make aluminium frames, distinctive by their huge-bead-welds and use of military style stencil graphics.

    I can’t find any pics or evidence or them online (inc American Bicycle Group), has anyone any knowledge?

    ps there’s a 1986 Diamond Back Arrival like this, all original, sat in my dads garage. I was told it was the first mass-produced aluminium frame, not sure how true that is though.

    I remember seeing the beryllium framed bike they made in Mountain Bike Action. It only cost $26000 (yes 26k)……
