Just got a new wheelset running tubless.
Not long since bought some conti mountain kings which I really liked.
Can I run these tubeless or do tyres have to be tubeless specific ?

Are they the Protection version, which are Tubeless Ready?

Not all Protection MKs are tubeless ready mind.

I’ve had very few tyres that wouldn’t go tubeless, but Contis do tend to be pretty leaky. It can’t hurt to try though and chances are, it’ll work, but it might be a bit faffy.

Have both MK Protection Black Chilli and non-protection, both working fine tubeless with Stan’s goop.

Took a bit of washing up liquid to get the beads to slip into place and some vigorous track pump action and they’re both holding pressure very well.
