Not a nice thing to happen at all. Hope she gets over it soon.

Thankfully it is rare, very rare (it’s the proliferation of media that makes it feel more common), hence why people react the way they do, we have little experience to inform us how to deal with it. So whilst it’s absolutey horrible for those involved it’s not something that warrants changing how you live your life. Chances are it’ll never happen to her again.

Hopefully for the victim in this case it works out as well for her as it can.

Five’s an interesting number really; think about it, why five and not six? You can get give people in most cars. You can’t get six in.

I don’t know anyone who would go up against five unless they had no other choice.

The points about choosing the right victim are apt though and there are things you can do that will deselect you more readily from others. It’s worth reading up aound the subject if you feel you’re more likely to be targetted.

A work colleage from years ago had her Porsche Boxter S stolen from her house. She lived alone in a relatively remote part of very north London. They broke in and took the keys from her bedroom; that’s all they took thankfully but lord she was a wreck for months after.
