Anyone got any experience on hotels in Tokyo?

Not too pricey (i know they can get really pricey) but nice and near interesting places.

I go there about 3 times a year with work but I never pay and not in the hotel long enough to really give any recommendations.

I love the place, enjoy 😀

Astil hotel in Ueno. About 13000 yen per night.

Right next to Ueno park for the zoo, museums and some great rodin sculptures. Close to Asakusa for the shrine. Its great to slowly amble down to akihabra through all the markets. Also, there is a great bike shop on Chuo-dori (main street running south from Ueno station). They always seem to have loads of nice skinny steel framed italian cyclocross bikes.

    Enjoy.

One of those capsule hotel places would be just about the right size for you.

I stayed in the Dai Ichi Annex a few years ago. It's about £78 a night through Expedia here It's in Ginza which is a pretty nice area, tube station just across the road. When i was there in April time it was Golden Week and the streets of Ginza were shut off for a big street festival. I love Tokyo, amazing place.
