We have a company that supplies us with thousands of products.
Finding the prices of them is a nightmare. so we need something like this…..

    CODE PRICE IN PRICE OUT
    12345 10.00 25.00
    12347 20.00 45.00

We need to be able to look on our iPad our computer scan down and find them. if we could type in the code and the details come up even better.
When item 12346 comes in we want to be able to slot it in between 5 and 7 .
Currently we have to check through the old bills to see what it cost last time and whether it’s gone up.
We also have a mac book pro with pages, numbers and keynote on it.
I am a real computer numpty so no fancy terms please.

Just stick everything in an Excel sheet and use CTRL+F to find the code. when new items need adding, right click on row number immediately below where you want to add and select “insert”.

Or you could go and get a fancy pants database set up.

If you need to access from different devices, try Google docs or similar, but the principle is the same.

I’m confused do you are ready have the data in a text file in the format above?

If so Just ctrl+f will for fill your needs. Or when you say scan do you mean that there is a barcode or QR on them and you are scanning the code and want data input in to a data base or a text file of some sort.
