...and I get a call tonight about the painful swelling in my shoulder and back. Oncologist very calmly explains that he consultant radiologist is very concerned about the MRI, and that I will need to attend UCLH this week for ultrasound, Cardiac MRI, CT and biopsy.

I've been here before. I know what is about to happen. Stakes are far higher now though; two beautiful children, a wonderful wife...

Time to get my game head on.

Three bloody days...

Wife is having radiotherapy just now, so a small idea of what sort of things you are going through.
Like allot of others followed your inspirational reclaiming of life.
You've beaten the odds before. You know that nothing is certain in this realm and that positivity is a powerful thing.

Always bad to hear this, even for people I don't know.

All the best for your results, just remember, medicine will have moved on in 5 years so you're in better shape than last time.

Good luck.

Mark, I followed the original thread, and was in awe of your bravery and attitude.
If you have to go through it all again I have no doubt that you can kick it's ass again. All the best, the whole of STW will be behind you.
Didn't seem like five years at all, which is scary enough in itself!

On a more serious note (my Father-in-Law has just got the all clear after his third fight with it), so there is always Hope and if their brakes are too expensive try Shimano!!

Be Strong, bollox to all that LiveStrong guff!!

Awww maaaaan. I saw the thread title, saw who the author was and thought, "No, don't be."

(I was also following your fight before, although I can't actually remember what my name was back then.)

I'm now sat here thinking of the Popeye cartoons when he eats his spinach and 'muscles up' for the fight. You've been here, you've beaten it. Stay strong.

That's shit. Sending you good vibes here. I'm always pleased to see your name in the forum and can't believe it's five years since the Petesgaff posts.

But: as said above, don't get hung up on the 3 days. Your body doesn't keep a diary.

Also, I might be naive but you don't know anything yet, right?

Very best wishes.

You gotta pity those cells - their days are numbered!

Time for a new t-shirt design I think.

This really doesn't seem fair by the way, some people have it too easy by comparison.

It must be like having to ride up the longest, steepest hill , into a headwind, with rain and snow falling all around you.In the dark.

You made it over last time and worked you way down to nearly the bottom, into the valley and the sunshine. Only to find out you have to do it all again.

You did it last time, you can do it this time . You know whats coming, whats going to be round that next corner. Its no biggie , cancer can go foxtrot to the far side of foxtrot. When its there it can foxtrot oscar a little bit more.

manhungs .... does this mean interacting with Az again? I might need councelling.
