What do we think?
Too late; I've only gone and bought some. They're slightly more comfortable than the skinny jeans though.

They're really cool
Wait you're under 21 years of age right
I seem to have aqcuired a pair from gap on impulse.
I now find I only own 'trail' type merrel trainers and they look duff so I've got to budget for some new footwear.
[they're not *really* skinny. And I'm 45. will I be laughed at by young people?]
Being deeply unfashionable, I have no idea what you mean. Pics?
You mean Jodphurs right?
I believe they are for hipster wannabees who have spent slightly too long on the ipie diet to fit in their sisters jeans.
Photos!
mrsconsequence looks good in them, are you mrsconsequence?
no.
no you're not.
silly boy
They are **** awful 45 year olds have no business wearing them
*shakes head*
"No, dad"
*rolls eyes*
I haven't a clue what you're talking about but intuition tells me you'll like like a **** in them.
Darcy, I'll buy some hareem pants if you do?
correct jon
Roll them halfway up your calf and wear in conjunction with a pair of Espadrills
like this but dark green and without the rolled up legs.

(frankly, I should have kept quiet, shouldn't I)
I would have thought, and I don't really know what he's talking about, but wouldn't a nice pair of brown brogue style booties with an intricate yet fashionably correct lacing pattern be better suited, wouldn't you?
They're not as bad as the ones i thought you meant (baggy arse and elasticated bottoms)
tops - those are hareem pants, I'm going to get a massive baggy cardigan to go with mine.
don simon - I was think a nice pair of brown boots from Jones Bootmakers.
i'm out of touch
I'm saving up for a corduroy jacket (sans leather sleeve patches) to go with them
Please not those unlaced - up boots that the yoof team up with them
Jones Bootmakers? They love their shoe care, there. No amount of leather treatment will stop the soles coming off though.
Something like this...
this sort of thing;

(fully laced)
I think I've probably got far enough into my sartorial (or otherwise) choices for a public forum...
[edit] close d s - bit too 'tan' for my taste, though.
Much more acceptable - that's what I should be wearing now I have crested 40 rather than old school trainers
EDIT: not those bottom ones!
*Shakes head in despair*
Brogue Troopers!
*Shakes head in despair*
see, I knew I'd got too personal.
and the jones website is broke - it's askign for a login on every page as one of the images is on a protected server...
I saw someone wearing a pair of them a while ago. I'm sorry, i thought of one thing....

Am I banned?
the boots or the chinos?
the boots were just an example not an actual purchase decision, honest guv.
TBH I'm not sure if brown boots are the way forward, I'm still trying to get people to understand that black boots with a suit IS acceptable.
Apparently, she married that blind kid with a hole in his head
From Uniqlo DD?
for the record, i can confirm I didn't think of darcy (or indeed any other STW keyboard warrior) wearing tight leg chinos and think 'spastic'. Partly because I realise that word is unacceptable [and i apologise], but mainly because it doesn't convey adequately what i really thought.
