I was on the A35 entering Bournemouth about an hour ago and one of those mobile speed camera vans was parked up at the side of the road.
This was approximately 150 metres after the speed limit went from 70 to 50, the road was extremely congested and I saw the van when I was about 30 metres away and was under the speed limit by the time I passed it.
My questions are...
1) What's their typical effective range?
2) I was initially travelling at 60 just before I spotted it, there were at least 4 or 5 cars in each lane ahead of me, most of them were also speeding. So, would the camera have been busy recording the details of the vehicle in closest proximity to it or can it track multiple targets at any given time?
I've got no points on my licence at the moment (for the first time in years), hoping I haven't just buggered my clean slate!
