For a long time this thought went through my mind every New Year’s Eve:

Why are singing about some old man and his eye?

I was alway astounded how many vehicles carrying stationery were crashed into.
    Eg,

a car hit a stationery van

one of the jobs I didn’t want to do as a kid was delivering stationery.

I grew up in a small town in Holland, the son of our GP was in my class. A few years ago my mum was talking about him and mentioned the fact he was adopted. I never realised! The GP was white Dutch, and the son adopted from South America!

I had been around his house and everything….. I suppose I am truly colourblind.

The fact that the Five Ten logo is a 5 or a 10 depending on how you look at it Always seen it as a stylised 5, then one day glanced down and went “oh, wow, it’s also a 10”.

And in the interests of full disclosure, I bought my first 5.10 climbing shoes in 1997, and noticed this on my Basics, oooh, last year….

Just nearly strained my neck looking at my 5-10’s to get what you mean, I’m never going to look at them the same again…..

As a kid my mum always said ” I’m struggling to make ends meet ” mean money was tight. For years I thought she was saying ” I’m struggling to make hens meat ” 😳 wondered why it didn’t make sense.

I remember thinking there were a lot of signs on the German Autobahns for “Ausfahrt”.

I’ve never been to Toutes Direction, but it must be huge, the number of signs in France for it [/quote]

On a motorbike tour, slightly lost, three of us spent a long time trying to figure out where we were by trying to find the clearly signposted town of ‘Lavado Automatico'[1] on a map of northern Spain 😳

[1] Lavado automatico = ‘car wash’

Not sure I’m spotting what’s in the Accolade Wines logo- is it that the A is surrounded by Ws?
Also, ‘Jonelle’ right at the start of the thread- what’s so special about it?!? 🙂

The negative space in the ‘A’ is a large drop falling into a wine glass.

EXXON is called that because it can’t call itself Standard Oil for trademark reasons (google/wikki its actually quite an interesting history). Which is why it’s ESSO (Pronounced S.O.) outside of the USA but not in its home market.
