spent the last two days riding at Coed-y-Brenin and Nant yr Arian in dry, sometimes sunny weather, had about 5 mins drizzle in two days and the trails were puddle free, couldn’t have asked for better

Lovely – I did the Syfydrin trail on Monday & loved it.
Some lovely coloured slate on the way round & only saw one bike actually on the trail.Glad I was warned about the Leg burner climb tho’!

    Nice photos!
What did you think of the new trail at Hopton. I’ll be heading over for a look soon.

At Nanty we only saw 3 other riders, about 60 red kites though!

Hopton was very muddy, very rooty, great downhills, quite interesting cornering in those conditions, deffo needed a mud tyre, uphill as expected was a bit of a slog (especially after 2 days pedalling in Wales

The question on everybodys lips RD is. In your opinion is CyB an AM Trail Centre?

i don’t think so, i was out of my comfort zone on the MBR/Beast sections, bu that’s because my local riding is no where near as rocky, if i was more used to it it’d be second nature, the rock “ups” were what caught me out, carrying speed to get up them is a technique i didn’t master in one ride

Nice, 3 of us did similar over the weekend, not rain whilst riding, not even on Monday!
Nant Yr Arian (Summit & the short one), Climachx, CyB (the Beast and squirrel one), and Cwm Rhaeadr on the way back.
First time at NYA, the short one was good but the Summit was spoilt by two much fireroad. In fact all the trails had more foreroad than I’m uses too – I guess with the South Wales trails so close we are spoilt by having some much singletrack.
The Beast was the best, I’d done it a couple of times before but always in the wet. The shortcut up the road is mighty steep though!
Didn’t try the cake as the NYA cafe was a little pricey.

I’m off to Coed y Brenin to do The Beast a week on Saturday, hopefully I’m as lucky with the weather.
