Mincing footballer lol. I suppose we could all idolise a hero who's denied drup taking in his sport for years and years and years lol.

Hahahahahaha. Alright mate enough.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Two wins for the footballer/cyclist or whatever, jeez maybe talent really is what matters...
Banana anyone?
Posted 10 months ago # -
That looked like a textbook sprint lead out. Awesome!
Posted 10 months ago # -
Cav is just amazing and total and utter respect - for a pushbike rider hehe.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Gwan Cav! .. The Manx missle strikes again, 17th stage victory, fair play.
Posted 10 months ago # -
"ah shit" Cav
Posted 10 months ago # -
He didn't know about Wiggo til the interviewer asked him.. he was really upset for his mate. That's sport for you.
Posted 10 months ago # -
"ah shit"
"What's your reaction?"
Think he just gave it to you.Absolutely awful day for Sky, brilliant day for HTC.

EDIT beat me to it.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Cavendish just 17 points behind in the points competition now.
Posted 10 months ago # -
So his green jersey position now looks a lot better.
Posted 10 months ago # -
ANyone else fascinated by the orbea seat stays?
Posted 10 months ago # -
Oooo hadn't seen those. Interesting
Geraint in 6th in the white jersey competition, 2 mins 58 secs back.

Gutted for wiggins and sky. It's taken G out of the fram as well. He was never going to hold that position in the mountains proper.
I'm hoping that as the plan has gone a bit wrong that the new plan is stage wins. I think they could get another with Boassen Hagen but I'd love to see G get a victory from a breakaway group but that's wishful thinking.
I assume they lost the time after waiting for Wiggins and riding on the rivet to get back on?

pretty much yes, they hung around for about 3-4 minutes waiting for Wiggins and then were left trying to get back on whilst the front group were gearing up for the sprint.

HTC were amazing today, all the pace making and then to lead out like that.
Posted 10 months ago # -
elfin... i think you need to frankly jog on ...isnt there a footy forum you should be chuntering on,great win for cav and bugger for brad.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Not a lot of mud clearance on that Orbea. Does nobody design bikes for typical UK conditions?
Posted 10 months ago # -
elfin... i think you need to frankly jog on
Quite frankly, I really don't care what you think.
Anyway, this is a mountain bicycle forum, in case you hadunt noticed....
Footballer and cyclist:
Posted 10 months ago # -
yeah but as far as im aware your mocking of the other chap was unfounded...footballers in generally are alot less fit that professional cyclists.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Specialized pioneered (well according to them, a few years ago..) that sort of seatstay on their TT bike, its an aero thing to help try to reduce the profile of the bike.

Cav would be even closer without the ridiculous point deduction :l

You don't like him, fine, some of us do (after having listened and read about him) so change the record!
After watching him today, and hearing his comments, I have a new-found respect for him. He's definitely grown up, and his comments about teamwork were spot on, and good on him for reminding everyone that it's a team effort, and I think he showed a lot of humility (he should really try to refrain from commenting on what others say though but I can understand him feeling a bit miffed).
His reaction to hearing about Wiggo showed a selfless and considerate nature, and he was visibly upset at hearing the sad news.
When he went for it, he seemed to be in a higher gear than Griepel, but just powered forward. Phenomenal. Different league.
So yeah; Go Cav!

He often says stuff like that - and he means it too, his first thing after the finish was to round up his team mates for celebration.. I watched him all last tour and read his tweets and he was nice then too - definitely grown up a bit since the early days but of course he was only a kid then.
You're right about commenting on what other people say but really, as fans it's what we all want to hear - much more interesting than 'no comment'
Can't believe how bummed I am about poor Wiggo tho - really like him, and he came through some hard times to get here.

Designed and sold in Spain, sold in the USA. I don't think the UK has a big enough share of sales to demand design changes.
Orbea are ace.Posted 10 months ago # -
Feel really really sorry for wiggins and gutted we couldn't see how he'd have done with the steep stuff. Well done to cav and team but today is one of sorrow.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Phew! What a day. Gutted for Bradley - and he'd done so much prep before this tour (couldn't believe he'd lost even more weight!). Pretty bad for young Geraint as well - dropped well down in the rankings now. Impressive display from
the HTC boys - formulaic but so effective! Cav's comments about his team and his reaction to first hearing the news about Wiggins were spot on.Been pretty eventful so far, can't believe we're only at Stage 7.
(.... wanders off to fettle road bike before long ride through the mountains over Pen y Pass tomorrow - living out my TdF fantasies
)

He's on the highlights now being interviewed looked like he was on some strong painkillers. Seemed very cheerful considering.
Posted 10 months ago # -
I think Brad might weigh even less than you, Sue!
No he can't really, but blimey he's got skinny.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Cavs in a different league altogether this tour, I was really impressed with his last stage win, taking the classics specialists at the last minute when he looked like he was out of it, all on his own in the last 1km as well.....
Gutted for Wiggo, not sure how he was going to go but the Dauphine win was a good indicator of form.
Edit - I think someone has hacked Elfin's account

Why do you think that?
