Mincing footballers everywhere take note.

Oh please do be quiet. Are you anywhere near any form of professional athletic standard?

Have you ever even played footy?

90 mins of even lower league footy would probbly destroy you. 90 mins of professional footy would destroy a pro cyclist; totally different physical requirements.

Cav is doing his best to bring footy style petulance to pro cycling though...

Will you give it a rest Elf? Cav is a young lad with a motormouth that he tries to control. NOT THAT DIFFERENT TO SOMEONE SITTING NOT A MILLION MILES FROM THIS THREAD! This is ok, we all have our quirks, but we like people anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

You don't like him, fine, some of us do (after having listened and read about him) so change the record!

Not now but 24yrs ago I was a schoolboy signing for Dundee FC. Then led Scottish infantry soldiers to war.

Do you like apples?

With Brad gone British GC hopes are being carried by Emma P. She's 2nd in the women's Giro with a MTF and TT to go.

Gutted for Brad, he was looking on form this year and seemed to have a positive mental attitude. Maybe he can rest up and look to getting back on form for the Vuelta now.

mcboo - ask Aaron Ramsey if he's a mincing footballer or many of the others who have broken legs etc playing football! Yes you hate football but lots of football people hate boys who ride "pushbikes" so just enjoy your own sport. I like apples too - and pears and oranges and strawberries and peaches ๐Ÿ™„

Gutted for wiggins and sky. It's taken G out of the fram as well. He was never going to hold that position in the mountains proper.

I'm hoping that as the plan has gone a bit wrong that the new plan is stage wins. I think they could get another with Boassen Hagen but I'd love to see G get a victory from a breakaway group but that's wishful thinking.

I assume they lost the time after waiting for Wiggins and riding on the rivet to get back on?

pretty much yes, they hung around for about 3-4 minutes waiting for Wiggins and then were left trying to get back on whilst the front group were gearing up for the sprint.

Not a lot of mud clearance on that Orbea. Does nobody design bikes for typical UK conditions?

Specialized pioneered (well according to them, a few years ago..) that sort of seatstay on their TT bike, its an aero thing to help try to reduce the profile of the bike.

You don't like him, fine, some of us do (after having listened and read about him) so change the record!

After watching him today, and hearing his comments, I have a new-found respect for him. He's definitely grown up, and his comments about teamwork were spot on, and good on him for reminding everyone that it's a team effort, and I think he showed a lot of humility (he should really try to refrain from commenting on what others say though but I can understand him feeling a bit miffed).

His reaction to hearing about Wiggo showed a selfless and considerate nature, and he was visibly upset at hearing the sad news.

When he went for it, he seemed to be in a higher gear than Griepel, but just powered forward. Phenomenal. Different league.

So yeah; Go Cav! ๐Ÿ˜€

He often says stuff like that - and he means it too, his first thing after the finish was to round up his team mates for celebration.. I watched him all last tour and read his tweets and he was nice then too - definitely grown up a bit since the early days but of course he was only a kid then.

You're right about commenting on what other people say but really, as fans it's what we all want to hear - much more interesting than 'no comment' ๐Ÿ™‚

Can't believe how bummed I am about poor Wiggo tho - really like him, and he came through some hard times to get here.

Designed and sold in Spain, sold in the USA. I don't think the UK has a big enough share of sales to demand design changes.
Orbea are ace.

Feel really really sorry for wiggins and gutted we couldn't see how he'd have done with the steep stuff. Well done to cav and team but today is one of sorrow. ๐Ÿ™
