thanks all, i was sure i was having it done until i was talking to some kids in school (i'm a teacher) earlier about tattoo's in general and they mentioned that star's were chavvy so this put me off abit.
It is a personal thing though not very original but i've seen them on others and like the look of them so why not
this is the look i'm going for

Yes they are pretty chavvy now... or should I say common to use an older word..
they DO symbolise lezbo tendencies.. I have them on my right arm to indicate precisely this fact.
How many people with swallow tattoos have done time?
I think alot of elderly (and younger ones for that matter) Naval folk who had swallow tattoos to sybolise returning home after an ocean crossing would balk at this information..
the swallow being migratory kind of makes the symbolism fairly obvious on this one..
We all change our opinions, our hairstyle, clothes, cars, furniture etc. throughout our life.
leaving aside the drunken and youthful and chavvy generic branding thought process.. I believe that the clue is in the question...
I have a tattoo but it is a deeply personal symbol. It's on my upper arm, and even when wearing t shirts people do not see it.
When it comes to symbols, if you are asking about stars and Chavvyness then it seems to me you are only thinking about the aesthetics and not the meaning of the symbols. Which is fine, but you will be stuck if you ever think the tattoos have become unfashionable. But you may want to reconsider and find a symbol that does speak to you.
I had mine done in a natural ink which lasted for 2 weeks. I decided I liked it and then made the decision to have it done permanently, in 4 colours.
It is a personal thing and it does not matter what others think. The only issues are maybe work related where you may not want business colleagues and customers etc to see them.

Cheers for confirming yunki.
they are all good imho
they can symbolise whatever you want them to symbolise
One might consider that personality and heritage are graven irradicably on every cell of the body - how's that for overkill ?
swisstony, which studio are you thinking of using?
I'd recommend booking a consultation and having a chat with whoever you plan to use. If they're a decent artist they will be able to come up with something much more unique and individual (and possibly more meaningful) than a star.
If you're in the South, Inma at Magnum Opus in Brighton is a brilliant artist as well as a brilliant tattooist.
Those saying tattoos are chavvy, don't actually know what chavvy is.
Get some tatoos on, ignore the it nerds on here, embrace your chavvy roots. SFB - you sound foreign, or intelligent. Possibly both. Stop it.
And I know I spelled 'tattoos' wrong. Frankly, I dont care.
Some absolutely horrendously vast majority (like 95%+ IIRC) of inmates are tattoo'd. Not sure where the causality lies.

Go the whole hog!!!
Three stars signify you are a quite good but not excellent mcdonalds crew member.

Most people disagree - with regard to personality at any rate. And blood cells have no nuclei, so neither heritage nor personality are graven there, irradicably or otherwise. Very Victorian terminology, btw, well done! Although surely "graven irradicably" is tautology?
Yes, I'm feeling pedantic.
Although surely "graven irradicably" is tautology?
it's emphasis. I imagine something could be graven erasably too
And blood cells have no nuclei, so neither heritage nor personality are graven there
oh really ? If I ever knew that I'd forgotten. So it was only 96% true
And for that matter personality is probably only 50% genetically determined! I was thinking about this at lunchtime as I was people watching - everyone looked different from head to toe, hairstyle, beardiness, expression, wrinkles, colour, clothes, posture, walking style - in which context skin markings become a very minor factor...
Mike , I'm in Sheffield so a bit far from Brighton. There's one I've used before but there's a very slick one opened recently so I'll take your advice and have a consultation and check them out
swisstony - this bloke's good and in Barnsley.

I'm a lesbian trapped in a mans body

That just looks **** ridiculous!!!
Cycling specific socks, they really wind me up!

Tony, google Q Tattoo or Quoz. A few people I know in Sheff have recommended him.
