After advice – managed to bend one sidewall of crest rim after all of 70 miles – just hit a square edge rock not seen at high speed.

It’s leaking air v slowly (tubeless) but almost true. Do I a) try straighten myself b) get someone else to do a or c) new rim and rebuild? (hope hoop on new pro 2 hub)

    Cheers

May as well try a) or b) before c). If you’re a ham fisted oaf get someone else to do it. Otherwise do it yourself.

They bend back fairly easily, I used an adjustable spanner with a soft cloth in the jaws to prevent scratches after I dinged both a crest and a 355. No problems with the rims since.

If the bend is over a large section of the rim it should be possible to bend it back, I used the channel that a roller shutter door runs in to recover a Crest which had 20+mm of deflection over about 150mm. It is still holding air with a yellow tape Stans setup.

Use an adjustable spanner and piece of leather to protect the rim,and very gently straighten it
