I think I need to repalce my drive train – starting to get chain suck. The chain is 0.75% worn, so I’m tempted to try repalcing the chain only – but suspect the chain suck means the chain rings themselves are too far gone…… So considering replacing the whole lot simultaneously.

BUT cash is currently tight as. I have a Hope pro 2 hub so want to use an alloy cassette carrier to avoid gouging the free hub too badly – and looking for the cheapest option here!

NO – 990 has alloy carrier

    Edit: and pg980 🙂

from memory you will need the 980 rather than the 970. On-one were doing both in their clearance section last week at good prices.

have a good look at the rings, chances are just one or two teeth have burrs, file the burrs off and you’re good to go, new chain only should be fine.

@clanton – I combined 2 knackered cassettes for a mate and as donk says burred off the hooks with a file and he’s been riding it with a new chain for 5 months now!
