  • SRAM cassettes with Shimano mech and KMC chains – any problems?

    Have SRAM made their cassettes incompatible with anything or are all 9 speed bits happy to play together?

    Any reason to go for one over the other or just buy the cheapest comparable bits.

    What are the SRAM naming conventions, PG990 is 40 better than a PG950?
    What are the Shimano naming conventions, HG61 is 11 better than HG50?

    Will work fine. Higher number = better quality, very loosely related to the groupset numbers.

    Also lighter in weight too the higher the number.

    Shimano mech, SRAM cassette and SRAM basic 9 speed chain work really well. Chain Reaction and Merlin always seem to have the cassettes at good prices.

    Seen this video Nick of where a certain event takes place;
