    the problem is really altitude, and the company you're with should make sure that you don't go too fast. Your base fitness level should help with that too.

    Now do I recall [on that comedy relief thing] that Moyles was one of those chosen to go the last bit to the summit because he was a smoker & used to far less oxygen?

    Exactly. Peple are far more likely to sponsor an attempt at something that is actually difficult and would take considerable training/dedication/self-sacrifice [and didn't involve a holiday destination].
