Hello a work friend has bought a Dialled Alpine second hand and now is looking for some big volume tyres, 2.25 upwards, ideally something that can cope with NW england dales and lakes conditions and are not too draggy not too expensive. Apologies for this but all recommendations welcome, thanks

maxxis advantage 2.4 are the biggest tyres i have ever used..............................mahoooosive.

I'm running a 2.4" ADvantage on the front of one of my bikes, it is indeed huge, but is great up in the hills and in the mud.
Out back I've got a Continental Rubber Queen 2.2" which blows up big too. Great tyre although not spectacular in soft conditions, best tyre i've used for climbing, and thats not even the black chilli version.

Schwalbe Big Betty 2.4s, they are proper big.

2.3 conti verticals are a cheap option for a good all rounder...

I also like the advantages..

I've just fitted some 2.4 Advantages to test. Have to see how I get on with them but they are definitely big.

2.5" bonty big earls
probably not everyones cup o' tea, but tough, and work great for me in the mud
bloody big as wellPosted 2 years ago # -
Schwalbe Fat Albert, in normal or UST. Better than Advantages in my experience.
And I ride in the Lakes, if that matters...

I use Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.25 all year round for everything, more than happy with them, although price can be dubious but they wear well.

bloody big as wellI like em too. High Rollers give good grip but are very draggy.

Nobby Nic 2.4's, big volume and very light (circa 600-650g) run tubeless?
Not cheap though...

Bonty big earl 2.5"s are good but they are a bit dragy and heavy, i ran them for a while on a hardtail in all conditions and they performed well everywhere. Check the clearance between seat /chain stays cause these are seriously big. Recently changed back to an old pair of 2.35" kendas and what a difference less dragy and feels a lot lighter.

Put a DH 2.7 Blue Groove on the Remdedy for a while. Plow thru it all but uplift only!

I have a 2.7 BG on my DH bike. It's scary. I reckon if it popped, it could kill me.

think you're missing the point of large volume tyres mate

I have these on my Alpine for the northwest of Blighty
more drag than Danny La Rue though
