Anyone done this recently? Just come off it tonight - has always been probably my favourite short ride with a lovely long, mildly technical singletrack(ish) descent, but has been brutalised and is now largely motorway. Horrendous - has changed this ride completely.
Presumably just so rich folk can get into the countryside without getting out of their Range Rovers to execute animals for fun...

Which bit has been done over?
You still get some descent around the side of Deuchary Hill, but before long you hit the stone bridge which has a view of Mill Dam, where another joins from the left - it can only a few hundred metres from when you've started going downhill. From there all the way to when you rejoin the main track is as wide as singletrack road. It's all open, too - none of that great rushing through trees stuff...
A real shame.
Shame - that was nice if beginning to erode a bit / get boggy last time I was there but I don't understand why its been done as there is a vehicle track parallel just down the hill
I'd love to go up and do that trail. It was one of my favourite places to walk the dog when I was a kid, since I lived right near the start of it.
