Pics ? If it's hand painted it might be noticed more easily.

Bad news by the way, hope you get it back.

thanks yeah, silly me. only moved in a week ago, fitted big shackle and padlock, half inch cable round rear wheel and frame. hadn't had time yet to do the full alcatraz. shed was more secure than the house is.

Manwells – A good lock won't stop the thieving C?*ts, merely annoy them a little more and maybe slow them down. Use your head huh?!

Sorry to hear chap, I'll put the word around this way, never know where they might turn up……

My mate told me the other week that there's been a lot of bikes stolen around Stafford of late. Any chance someone has followed you home from a ride ?

My usual boring tip would be to set up an auto search on Ebay, in case anything comes up.

You should invest a good CAPS LOCK as yours appears to be stuck on.

Sorry to hear about the OP's bike.

Will keep my eyes peeled on my travels. Gutted for you, knick my car but not my bikes is my sentiment. There appears to be a real increase in thefts of bikes and I have my suspicions that its not just for the strip down and flog on the parts market but for chopping up the frames and selling to a scrappies-good prices at the moment for aluminium. Anyone that does frequent scrapyards keep your eyes peeled.

I'm sure I recognise that bike from riding on Cannock with you 3-4 years ago. Highly distinctive and almost impossible to hide.

Really hope you get it back.

    Story of the paint job

Paul Turner suspension guru and owner of Maverick Bikes, had a local artist (Kate Seeley) paint a mural on his kids bedroom wall. He loved it, so he gave her a bare frame and said 'paint what ever you like on that'. So she did. That's the one I bought.

Wondering how M&S insurance will see that aspect of it!

Is it a coincidence that Manwells seems to know what kind of lock it had on it – and he's always selling bikes on the Classifieds?

    Gutted for you iDave 🙁

Although on the plus side, you're only missing a bike, whilst manwells on the other hand, appears to be missing an adult brain.

Hope you get your bike back – I reckon you've got a chance with it's distinctive features.
I'm not so hopeful for manwells though.

worst thing was having to post something on the bike part of the forum. what's that all about? full of freaks.

Really gutted for you – a frame that distinctive will be hard to hide – likely some opportunistic vermin taking advantage of you being new in the area. The very best of luck to you in getting it back.

That's a cool looking piece of kit Dave. Sorry for your loss. I hope it's merely temporary and the two of you are re-united on the trails very soon.

    Will keep an eye out.
