Just had a week in the Sierra Espuna. Third visit, previous two were guided but this time we just followed gpx routes recorded on the previous trips. Stunning area, with rides as hard or as easy as you might want them. Stayed in Gebas at about 1,400 feet and climbed to 4,200 one day, then came down the fun way! Icing on the cake was meeting Steve Wade of Orange fame, in El Berro, especially for my mate who was riding an Orange Alpine. Stayed at the hotel Mariposa in Gebas, brilliant biker friendly small family run hotel where our respective wives were entertained while we lads played. (Unashamed plug for the area and the Hotel- can’t wait to get back – don’t be put off by the hotel offer of no pedalling bike rides, there is some seriously good riding around here – look up Gebas on Everytrail.com. )

Try Camping Sierra Espunia, they have some cabins that are a good price.
