    calculators!

    I’ve got a Casio fx-P401

You can tell I’m waiting for an important e-mail. The bugger will turn up with an hour to go and it will be chaos.

I keep one of these by the desk for when things get really complicated and I run out of fingers

I have one at home – an old Casio Scientific – that I bought to do 6th form maths on. That was in 1983 and it still gets used regularly and still has the original Casio batteries in it.

I only noticed the other day that if I turn my iPhone on it’s side the calculator turns into a scientific one 😳

First proper calculator at high school- invested a lot of money from holiday jobs in it mmm, RPN….. 🙄

Lusted after one of these (HP41C), but could never afford one…

Just found this in my desk drawer, where it has been since 1992!

Bought it in 1987 during The Great Bury Tech Calculator Arms Race.

Cheated my way through my degree finals with it too.

Wanted one of these but they were way too expensive.

Such a “ahead of its time” design too. And how cool is the logo?

Laughing at the “arms race” – our school was the same.

This is what got me through my GCSEs. Kneel before Zod Cougar.

My First Calculator was one of these, second hand via my dad.

I’ve also got one of these somewhere,

I had one of these for my A-levels – practically did the exam for me 🙂

Had it since uni. No idea how to use most of it, but it won’t die now! Just want a simple one that other people can turn on and use when they come over to my desk

Often wondered if I could get away with storing text in the memory (using the programming functionality) and cheating in exams.

My housemate has stolen my other one i think!

I had the same one as TimP. It helped me get through my GCSE’s but only because I realised I could store pages and pages of notes in the programing section.

    +1 timp.

Does your one eat batteries like there’s no tomorrow? I’m seriously considering converting her to run on coal, it’d be cheaper.

Got me through high school and mech eng at uni, great machine. Plus no-one at work can use it so it doesn’t get bumped!

Whatever is the most recent scientific casio I can be bothered to buy usually, get a new one with cool new features every 4-5 months or so. Graphic calculators are a waste of money IMO.

In some ways – I never use the graphic functions these days.

Can’t get on with the single line screens scientifics have though, if I’m typing in some boom gnarly maths I want to see whats going on
