The wife is looking to get a fireplace of some description. Would be very interested to see other peoples to get some inspiration.
Many thanks in advance.

Should give you some ideas, they did ours and we are very pleased
A selection from the house of Moont. Now you know where the firewood goes

*seeks adoption by macmoonter*
I hate McMoonteer, his house, his log stores, his woods and his bloody fireplaces.

One of these is a long term family home, if that makes me less unlikeable.
Jealousy is a dangerous thing mcm
Does McMoonter live in Downton Abbey?
I know McM - I don't hate you really - you are very fortunate as well as very adept with your store building skills.
MF - fires and stoves have long been a part of my life. Here is a parental bid for heat a month before I was born. Don't attempt to replicate the stove pipe routing at home.

:-)as per email This cost £500 all in.
mcmoonter, O/T who is the chap in the frame/second pic? (if you don't mind me asking)

Logs are a bit close tho aren't they
I've got a limestone fire surround, mantle and hearth I need to sell. Any of you fireplace afficionados any idea where I may offload such an article?
Blimmin draughty though.
Trying to get a grant to get the loft insulated and DG fitted.
It got flamed last time. 1923 surround, cast iron bit off ebay (similar period) new wallpaper.

Coyote: fleabay.
Will get a picture of the log burner up.
Is that the type of fire you'd want? They pack way more heat and are easier to control and clean. Our fireplace was open for years...
You'll have to speak to Dean @ Midland Cookers, tell him Patrick sent you..if you'd like a log burner/aga burner of course.

I thought they would get hot but they dont. Just about all of the heat is above half way up the burner. I even have a couple of candles either side of the burner without them melting.
Suppose it depends on the draw and as I lined the chimney the draw is excellent.
If you need any tips just ask.
Not entirely sure why I'd let you wazzocks into my front room!

Anyway, carved black marble and cast iron
something we discovered in our house
As it is now at the end of the evening with a cosy Mr.
Hopefully in a few weeks the log burner will be there
