does anyone know if the splines on the axles are the same throughout the range?

I’ve stripped the thread out of a non-drive side XT crank and was wondering if i could replace it with a lx, or any other in the range?

not sure, but a longer bolt or having it helicoiled would probably be cheaper anyway.(assuming it’s the clamp, not pedal thread)

the splines are all the same, but i think the q-factors on some are different

Quality factor i presume? Though it doesn’t make sense, lol

q factor is width of pedal thread face

Just to be clear, q-factor is the distance between the outside pedal faces of the crank, measured as if one of the cranks were removed and pointed in the same direction as the other. Too wide a Q-factor and your pedalling stance will be like John Wayne.

You should be able to get your stripped pedal thread helicoiled so you don’t need to scrap you crank

Cyclus do a kit see here but its 140 quid from dot bike..

I am sure a good bike shop will do this for you.
