I know my ayups will see me right but will my mate survive the winter doom on £59ers?

I would be dubious on those - still as its mail order you have the cooling off period to return them.

I think that will be a whole level less light than a high power LED such as the ayups.

Be better with a bastid light or DX torch for similar money.

I have a set of these which I use for commuting. They're fine for taking it easy off road on simple tracks. Tow paths and an FC blue will be fine. An FC red would require a lot of care. Bottom line: if he's on a budget, they're a good buy and he's unlikely to get better performance for the same money. BTW battery is nice and compact but mounting choices are a bit naff and you need to put some tape around the connectors to stop them pulling apart and unexpectedly plunging you into darkness.

I have these and they were brilliant for trail riding and commuting, my only issue is that they give off a really white light so when an on comming car lights hit them they dissapear. But I still use them after 2 years and they still hold a 6 hour charge.

I found them in Argos - seem to be the exact same light under license to another company for half the price again! Were VERY worth it for £30!
