Current set up is SRAM shifters and mech, want to change to Shimano as I hate the push push on the rear shifter. If I take both off and replace with Shimano, can I just do a straight swap, plus any realignment/tension.

Sounds fine to me. Do it, you won’t regret it.

You need to swap both the shifter and the rear mech. SRAM / Shimano isn’t mix and match (certain bits are, but it’s complicated). Shimano will work with your existing cassette, it will just require a set up.

There is the added thing that a couple of bikes have shimano or sram specific hangers. Just want to check.
