I’ve just been going through some old paperwork from before I moved house and found a Share Certificate for BP Amaco, I’ve no idea how it came to be with my documents.

Does anyone know what I should do with it?

    Of course, yes.

Stick to your story…no matter what 🙂

    In whose name is it?

look up the registra on the net and give em a call.

you can transfer ownership of shares, but you need the signature of the original owner, (the registra will know this from the certificate number) or by having a grant of probate (in the case of a death).

Do you have any idea how you got it?

The address is from an old shared house. We had a few problems with bailiffs/debt recovery companies so it may have been opened then (not by me I hasten to add)
