I know you poor sods in the northern hemisphere are enduring a grimmer than average winter but I am sitting down in 100% humidity and 22 degrees at 11.25 pm drinking Steinlager Pure and its just the ticket. I bloody love Beer me.
Please to be telling me whats getting you through these chilly times?

It’s good. I could probably live without it though. Since leaving uni I’ve hardly drank it, or any alcohol actually.

I prefer Lyme Regis, personally, just along the coast but a bit more going on.

Summer Lightning’s ok, but you can’t beat a proper stout – man’s beer.

Good to see someone who doesnt want to taste anything, as long as its cold! Why not just drink cold lemonade?

What on earth are you on about? Guinness is full of flavour and a very refreshing pint to boot.

He’s just bitter because he drinks old man beer that tastes STRONGLY of old tramps’ socks and feels the need to shout about it

Heather Bash – Guinness is pretty tasteless compared to a real stout. Have a look at some of my suggestions above and you won’t regret it. 😉

Guinness Original in cans is the nearest thing to Guinness of old, the gassy smoothflow stuff you get in pubs is nasty stuff.

The Foreign Extra stout is pretty good though:

Plus the colder you make guiness the less it tastes of anything.

Drinking cold Guinness is the beer equivalent of drinking red wine out of the fridge.

whats wrong with drinking red wine out of the fridge? i find it tastes best cold with some ribena or other purple-ish squash to add extra flavour 🙂

Isn’t this the reason lager is always served so cold 😉

Ribena to make up for the lost taste of chilled wine? 😉

Anyway, beer is great and each to their own!

Beer gives me hangovers from hell, depending on my mood and location it’s either Smirnoff red, Southern Comfort or Jagerbombs this winter. All the alcohol induced merriness, without any unfortunate consequences 😉

    i’m not a beer fan

winter – meaty red wine and whisky
summer – fruity red wine and G&T and tequila

    Oh and guinness occasionally

celebrating a job interview with a bottle of Pakas Paavo, just about the only decent beer in Finland. I recommend a ‘pilgrimage’ to those nice trappist breweries in NL and belgium…. 😉

Nope, Larger is brewed at a much lower temp IIRC and its served cold so that you cant actually taste it.
