Thats a seriously long custom timer. My cam doesnt time longer than 10 secs.

make sure the camera is on a stable surface or you get what we got.. notice us leaning to compensate for the camera moving. haha
what length timer do you have as you look quite far away, i've tried it a few times without much luck as i only have a 10s timer.
These were self done but are stills from the HD video on my digi cam, slightly stylized because of the lack of sharpness in the video. First time posting pics from FB so hopefully you can see them.

@angryratio
i have a couple like that and lots of pics of empty trails
@rs
some great pics
i can set the timer up to 30 sec and it will take up to 9 shots.
@stevomcd
always love watching that. cheers
Man, how much of that have I done! Get a gorilla pod to start with. Then I set my camera for a long delay then a burst of shots.
Video is quite easy (although it's hard to get this effect... :lol:) Climb and a Descent!!!
Here's some of my favourite self shot:

rs, the stills from your vid's look fantastic. It gives them a great 'effect'.
first must of been a pita to get!
last one is my favourite, just looks fast.
Cheers pastcaring, the first took a lot of shots. I always smile at the fact that I'm death gripping the bars and in the big ring which shows how many times I'd done the drop to get the shot!
Ha ha, thanks, the last one felt fast too, it was on a borrowed hardtail with rubbish forks and v-brakes so I think I overcooked it a wee bit!
probably my best effort so far:
hung my gorilla pod from a tree branch... original image was obviously upside down
cheers guys, found a couple more of me attempting things i'm really not any good at
This was as high as i ever got last year, might need to try again soon.

Giant killer wasp

Similar to dougs.

(Taken with my Canon 5D, on 10second timer, 1/4th, F5.6, ISO1600 (it was 8am!), 24-70L F2.8 lens)
My best so far. As for tips, I found if you pick a fairly quiet time of the day to take them you can hear the beep of the camera timer for timing yourself to come past it. However mine did take about 5-10 attempts!
doug_basqueMTB.com - great shots
where is it you're riding second from last shot?
Thanks xcstu! The last one is just a trail here called Carlos's Ridge. It's been in Singletrack if you've seen it before and will be in FIND if you've seen a trailer of that?
narcissism?
Can't post from my phone but I'm sure someone can oblige me!!!

took me ages to get this one and nearly died several times in the process!
I suppose it's the ultimate expression of it isn't it!
here you go
Pic Removed, rs beat me to it!
Nice pic lookmanohands! Is that in Lennox Forest?
That'll be the one, cheers r s
no doug, it's cranham woods.
Ah cool, it looks like a drop I remember from the distant past in Lennox forest. Nice photo anyway!

narcissism?
yes
i ride on my own 99% of the time. so no one to take pics of, just trails, i got bored of that.
"I waannted to rahde a kwalidee trail" (sounds better with the canadian drawl).
This shot cost me the camera. Slipped on my arse walking back down after I'd collected it and dropped the damn thing on the rocks!
looks like it was sort of worth it though
JonEdwards
great shot!
Jonedwards - you should break cameras more often.
JonEdwards, that's a great ss photo! Timed perfectly.
Pretty rubbish on my part
not narcisim, just no friends

and yep, I had to wade back to get the camera.
Taken on my mobile / commute to work.
I've been inspired! I think I'll go out Saturday and do something similar.
