I'll be there helping my mates with the Tirol Forest Track. Anybody else going to give up a days riding to go have a look? If you are coming pop over and say hello and have a go on the track.

Had a look at the floor plan. Will just about be able to throw rolled up inner tubes at you lot.

My wife wants to go so I'll probably be there.

Aye, I'll be there... What's Rich up to then?
(does anyone else feel like they're not promoting this thing too well? There's been a bit of press coverage but if you look at the website you're left not really knowing what it's for, whether it's an industry show or punter show, whether there'll be functioning shops and stuff to do, etc.)

Taking part of the bike track (Not the pump track) he built for the London bike show so folks can have a go. Some info here, http://www.biketrackpeople.com/index.php/latest-news/

Checked website and couldn't work out what it was about so giving it a miss...clearly not for me if I can't understand the website.

You ride a bike no? It's a bike show, for people who ride bikes.

Can't say I'm too confused but you enjoy whatever you decide to do instead.Posted 1 year ago # -
I must admit there is something about the website that hides the message a little, whatever the message is supposed to be (fun perhaps?) and I also would say that it has not been hugely promoted, although I am no expert and would not know how to do it better.

I'm going....i dunno what people are confused about, there are other tabs on the website which you can click through to see everything about the event - just heard an ad on real radio and there was another ad in the local paper about the show....so seems to be promoted well.....seen loads online about it too....
Just glad a bike show will be up here for a change so I think if your into cycling you should support it and see what it's all about!

Has the website changed then? I last looked about 6 weeks ago and it was a single page type thing. Have to say though I'm unlikely to go, I prefer doing than seeing/chatting about it. Hope it is a great success though.

My feelings too. I think it's the first time the organisers have attempted something like this so we can't expect it to be perfect first time round but they seem to have a good few people on board. Thought there might have been more about it on here, especially as Singletrack are going to be there.

Laggan demo weekend on the same days - I know where I'll be going
Cheeky edit - bloody autocorrect (sic)
Posted 1 year ago # -
As long as you know where you're going, I wouldn't have a Scooby where Latham is, unless you mean Laggan
Posted 1 year ago # -
I will probably go or I might go to the general outdoor event at Ingliston the previous week.

So about 40 to 50 exhibitors,
Some of which are shops , why would i go to a shop at an exhibition when I can go to one of several great shops in the local area?
Some are manufacturers, am I looking for a new bike? No, I'm not and when I am, I'll go to a shop so I can borrow a demo bike. Can I get a proper ride at an exhibition? No
Nevis Range / Seven Stane / No Fuss, what do I stand to gain from talking to them? I know what they have to offer already and have little likelihood of influencing their decisions as an individual.Sorry, but I'm with Dick on this one, what's the show trying to do other than charge me a few quid to let me look at limited stock of bikes and parts? Hang out with cyclists and say yeah, the seven stanes , No Fuss & Nevis range are cool.
I can do all of these things on a Saturday out with my mates, that's free and I can ride a bike at the same time.
Strikes me that whoever is pulling the show together doesn't have a concept in mind other than "lets get lots of cycling type people, retailers, distributors & associated trades in a big room". It's not a bike show, it's not a forum for debate on how to advance cycling in Scotland.
Yes I know that STW mag is going to have a stand, as much as I love the mag I don't see the point in going to an exhibition stand to say, your magazine is great.

Laggan demo weekend on the same days
Really? Bugger, that's early this year.
I was intending on going to the show Sunday so that'll leave Saturday for Laggan. Perfect.Posted 1 year ago # -
Jeez, some folks are hard to please. It seems to be aimed at anybody that might have an interest in bikes. It might work, it might not but surely it's worth giving it a go?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Actually, I may drag junior 1 along to Glasgae on the Saturday to have a gander and head up to Laggan pm
Posted 1 year ago # -
Be sure to come round to the forest track for a spin, not quite Laggan, but still.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Nowt to do with being hard to please...I'm big enough to know what I like...this doesn't tick my boxes BUT I still hope it is a huge success...so what if it doesn't appeal to me? I'm sure there will be thousands of people it will appeal to.
I'm not hard to please but if someone asks me something I don't agree with it - I say so...

Fair enough. I just think as it's a first up here we should give it a chance. All the information I've heard about it has been pretty clear. Certainly a lot cheaper than some recent conferences on trails.

Pal wants me to go, but I think I'll just go out on my bike.
It's a good philosophy - if faced with two options of what to do at the weekend, go for the bike ride every time.
Posted 1 year ago # -
I was all set to go but was told earlier this week that I have to work all weekend.
Posted 1 year ago # -
I'll be along on sunday
Posted 1 year ago # -
Through in Glasgow for a gig on sunday night so will probably pop in for a daunder around the show.
Posted 1 year ago # -
debaser, you off to Trail of Dead?
Posted 1 year ago # -
I'd considered it but hadn't identified what I wanted from it yet. The "what's on" page doesn't inspire me much
