I have a Sky dish on the roof which is currently unused .

I want to get a Fransat receiver to get french channels . Plenty of boxes on ebay ( a lot cheaper on ebay france ) .

I need to get the dish to point towards Astra satellite .

Can I use the Sky dish ? ie is it big enough and can it be moved to point in the right direction ?

Dishes are cheap enough , but would rather use the dish already there .

    thanks

Not at work so can’t double check

but 90% sure Fransat is broadcast from Atlantic bird @ 5 degree W

should be ok with the Sky dish though, just repoint it – as long as you can see clear sky another 30 degrees or so to the west you should be ok
for reference, the bird is pretty much where the sun is at 12:20

the above presumes you’re in the UK and not too far either E or W

Use this http://www.dishpointer.com/ site to line up your dish.

I’m afraid that pointer app won’t give much info he doesn’t already have
he’s already on 23E, 19E is a very small movement to the W on a small dish like that
