when you ride from home, is there a direction that you avoid?

cos it is hilly/boring/to busy. or any other reason.

I always head onto the main road as the other way leads to “the Heights” where cars park badly on narrow roads, people drive aggresivley and the kids are scary.

I generally avoid the A680/A58 because if I wanted to do a long tarmac section, I’d go out on my road bike.

I avoid the normal road way round through the sand dunes if I don’t fancy it. but sometimes I do fancy it cos It is more fun. It’s not far anyway. Totally churned up with sand at the mo and have to push it

i try and stay off the roads if possible.am lucky that the kennet & avon canal is right on my doorstep (if i want to cycle to trowbridge, bath). also if i want to cycle on the ridgeway (avebury/marlbrough downs) i can cycle nearly all the way without having to join the main roads 🙂

never go east unless some one else leads. don’t know many routes that way; don’t know why.

    might sort that out….

I must be lucky. Great riding in every direction! 🙂

Its possible to do 40+ miles round here only crossing about 2 roads twice, with no other Tarmac at all. 🙂

And that’s just in one direction……

On the road I rarely go south, on the mtb I rarely go west.

I have no idea why, other than the routes I know and the places I like to ride.

I live at the bottom of a cul de sac so there is only one way out 🙂
