I was just reading the post on the two kids with Chickenpox. If you have had Chickenpox and are approaching 50 or beyond (although you can get it at any age if you have had Chickenpox), suggest you get the Shingles vaccine.
I am just getting over a case of Shingles and it is not something you want to experience–I’ve been lucky to get 3 hours sleep a night for the past 3 weeks due to pain. Shingles is the Chickenpox virus that lays dormant in nerves radiating from your spine—it is usually on the trunk and only on one side, radiating from spine around to mid-chest/stomach–mine was just above beltline and looks just like Chickenpox.
You have to have had Chickenpox to get it–triggered by all kinds of things (they can’t really pinpoint one thing).
Shingles isn’t contagious as Shingles, but if you have it and are exposed to someone who hasn’t had Chickenpox, they can develop Chickenpox from it.
Trust me–you don’t want a case of Shingles!!!!
