Decided it’s too much fun to ride, so time for a spruce up.
For the last 5 years it’s been covered in camo tape. I stripped it down last night to reveal a couple of small dings in the top tube. Nothing major, but I’m going to get it repainted, so they need smoothing.
Is there any way to pull them out or shrink them?
Painting is going to be diy, nothing too flash, just a bit of colour.
I know it won’t look factory, but I like doing these things, used to do a bit of airbrushing.
    Any advice on the dents?
    Cheers KJ

You’re only option is car body filler.

Fill them and sand with a block (flat section of wood with sand paper warapped around it).

as long as the dents are non structural then that should be fine.

    Good bikes

No turning back now, just found 2 cracks running around the seat tube from the seat post slot.
No chance of a warranty job on it, so its getting welded.
    Now what colour?

which DMR is it? as if its a switchback it might be worth an email, as they were known to crack there and its a manufacturing defect.

Just emailed them about it, it is a Switchback. Thank for the heads up about that.
Long since lost the receipt for it & the shop has shut, so no hope for a warranty on it.
As for colour, I’m thinking red oxide primer with blue & green grips & brake cables. I’d do a better job if the frame was in better shape.

Well it won’t be pretty, but it will be different.
Paint came off easy followed by 3 coats of primer. I’ll it again better next time, but for now rat bike/BMX style will do.

have you painted the threads in the BB?

that will be fun for you to clean out!

a LBS will be able to chase the threads out, otherwise it will just take a lot of patience and a stanley knife.

Yes, amateur mistake that. Got a bit keen on getting the spray paint going.
Off to the shop tomorrow to get the headset put back in anyway.
BMX seat may have been a mistake.
