Always enjoyed thrilling adventure stuff, lots of faves and have just watched Gravity (off iTunes)
Other faves include “Mission to Mars” and stuff like that, also into stuff like Star Wars/Trek and boring I know but Indiana Jones and the like..

So with this in mind I’m hoping you could come up with some films that fit that kinda genre..

    Any ideas?

and if you like SCI-FI and something more recent check out Guardians of the Galaxy. Very entertaining and surprisingly well executed for a Hollywood blockbuster

Centurion is pretty action / adventury. Maybe watchable just for Fassbender though. Cant remember.

    Flawed but entertaining – Pathfinder.

Can I cheat and recommend a tv series that ends with a film? Firefly/Serenity… Part crime caper, part western, part space opera, it’s got the dusty scifi worlds and convincing beat-up workmanline tech of star wars, and a joss whedon script. Think you’ll like it.

I read books like this too, think I’ve probably read most but clearly if you’ve any recommendations in the literature world those too would be greatly appreciated.

All the President’s Men. Full of suspense even though you know who the baddie is all along.

I am somewhat at a loss to see the link between Gravity and the recommendations here. I wanted Sandra Bullock to meet a grisly end as soon as possible so the film could be over 😯

Last of the Mohicans is excellent and @Malvern’s list looks really interesting

I assume you’ve seen (in recommended order high to low) Touching the Void / Into the Wild / Alive / 127 Hours

Also in concert with @scandal’s excellent suggestion – Finding Nemo

If ‘Into the Wild’ is as bad as the book I wouldn’t bother.

Everest is supposed to be out next year, no idea if it’ll be any good mind.

Silly me, forgot to recommend Werner Herzog’s epic (in every sense of the word) ‘Aguirre (Wrath Of God)’

I’d never do it credit with words, suffice to say that it is shot through with true uncompromising directorial brilliance, right down the otherworldly, poetic and suitably unsettling score by Popol Vuh. It isn’t a happy film and sends a chilling message by holding a mirror up to mankind.

In a similar vein has anyone seen Herzog’s ‘Lesson’s of Darkness’? I never did but think i should.
