Weird I know, but I need a nice (relatively inexpensive please) for a gift.

Girls, recommendations for what smells nice on your fella would be good.

Issey Miyake ‘L’eau d’Issey’ seems to go down well.

Paul Smith ‘Extreme’ has a similar fresh scent.

Hugo Boss ‘Boss’ is an old standby too.

I agree with the above Issey recommendations – lovely scent.

I do still like Davidoff Cool Water and there is a Ted Baker one that is quite nice but I have no idea what it is called.

Sexpanther is from Anchorman… watch it now!

Yep, that’s what I wear at the moment (when I bother), and it’s just about to run out so this surprise gift your planning is perfectly timed.

Cerruti 1884. On no less* than three occasions have (previously unknown to me) women approached me in the street to say how nice I smell (and one of them was an Italian woman in Rome, which maybe counts double?!)!

    Ace**!

*and no more, to be strictly accurate.

**although admittedly maybe slightly less ace given that these encounters have occured over a fifteen year period?

How old is the chap you are buying it for?

Some fragrances are more suited for older/younger chaps.

Problem is… different fragrances smell differently on different people.

But if you follow DD’s advice I’m sure he’ll be pleased.

yeah, I know, but you don’t let me stay in your house rent free in exchange for some cooking and housework.

Ahh, I see, no… I quite like cooking so that wouldn’t be a fair exchange.

What’s wrong with GT85? I seem to constantly smell of the stuff!

Mind you, doesn’t work as well as Sex Panther of course. Most of the time, it works every time!

I have had several ladies tell me that 212 smells really good on me, but alas, I genuinely have no sense of smell, so it’s used purely for their benefit. I do remember that Cerruti 1884 wasn’t as popular though.

In the days when I could smell owt, I found I preferred things like Nivea, Vicks and Germolene, yet ladies don’t seem to favour these as scents. 🙁

I’ve been painting a cabinet with gloss paint. I am sad I cannot enjoy that particular smell.

How did you loose your sense of smell? Doesn’t that make late night fridge raiding a bit hazardous? 😆

Well the specialists at St Barts aren’t really sure. They think one likely explanation is damage to olfactory nerve endings following a sinus infection, but around the same time, I had a bike crash which left me with concussion, so they’re not ruling out some form of slight neurological damage too.
