Maybe it's your smell of sense which was damaged?

I thought taste and smell were inextricably linked? Not questioning you, but I'm genuinely interested.

I dunno Yeti. The specialists said neurological damage usually means a person can lose sense of taste and smell, but can sometimes knock out just one. Complete permanent loss of smell following just a sinus infection is apparently extremely unusual, and only likely after chronic long-term illness really. They reckon it's probbly a combination of the two.

I had to get a brain scan. The resulting image just shows an empty void. 😐

Ho hum, mid twenties. Rugger sort (d'you know what I mean by that?)

I know what you mean, but I can't imagine those sort of blokes wanting to smell of anything but Lynx or soap 😆

You should research some of the ideas mentioned in this thread on http://www.basenotes.net/

My recommendation would not work for your chap.

Good luck with sniffing out the right fragrance!

this is my aftershave, mrs_drummer really likes it on me

[img] [/img]

available on t'net for about E37

Papa Cheri by Fragonard, Grasse, Provence, France - www.fragonard.com. If you happen to be with 50 miles of Nice, I heartily recommend a visit to Grasse

lasts forever. I bought a 200ml bottle in summer 2007, I still haven't finished the bottle, although I did buy another bottle about 6 months ago, haven't needed to start it yet

Dr. Harris do a range of really nice, classic aftershaves, the arlington is lovely Linky

Failing that Aqua di Parma. expensive, but great

Did someone say diesel?

instead of aftershave, why not treat him to a shave? A proper, barber's shave with hot towels, oils and cut throat razors.

Arlington is very nice, smells like a mix of citrus and fern.

I have the Arlington shaving soap as well.

Diesel is only £1.30 a litre, quite cheap IMO.

I use 'Only the brave' EDT. A couple of sprays everyday and a £30 bottle lasts about 7 months or thereabouts. I make that good value.

I use a mixture of Old Spice and Brut, The Essence of Man.

I am, I believe, the very essence of what it is to be a man.

If budget is a consideration, then I'd also recommend Clinique Happy. It's my 'every day' scent and often gets complimented on.

I also like Armani Code and Essenza de Zegna for something a bit different.

Examine the shelf in Superdrug.
Buy something which is NOT represented there.

I like Issey myself.

Is there not a 'SexyParty pour Homme' scent available?

Penhaligan's sampler set might be an alternative idea. Lots of different little aftershaves.

I reject all this high street fragrances for a special mix I have formulated for me in Italy.

I'm not too sure of the detail, but I believe its made from powdered Elephants tusks, the fins of Great White Sharks and Siberian tigers teeth.

My Italian mate Silvio says he swears it, and even though he's getting on a bit, it seems to be going down an absolute storm with the Laydeeez

Issey Miyake 'L'eau d'Issey' seems to go down well.

emsz could do all us fellows a favour.

All she has to do is take some random bloke to the perfume/cologne counter and try them on him.

When she finds one that makes her want to leap on him, then she can post it on here.

I'm sure we'll all promise not to use it wantonly on unsuspecting ladies...

🙂
