I have just changed my car to a 4 door Mercedes E class, what recomendations are there for boot mounted cycle carrier. I don’t want to go the expense or trouble of roof bars as whilst I want a quality unit to carry three bikes I probably only use it about a dozen times a year. I have a tow bar rack but the same problem really it’s a lot of money to invest in a tow bar for such little usage.

I use one of these on a X Type Jag, you can fit it to the car in about 1 minute and even with the rack and bikes on you can still open the boot.

    Highly recommended

I use the saris as well but the metal hooks have damaged the paint a bit.
Lucky I dont really care about my car but if I did I would get a tow bar mounted rack.

Saris Bones are really good. Pretty universal fit, and easy to put on and off. They’re made of recycled plastic so don’t mark the car either.
