    At Alpine Bikes

Delivery is £4.50 which bumps it up a bit but I’ve heard the rrp is now £40 so it’s still cheap.

You can bet the price isn’t the same in-store but perhaps you could persuade them to give it to you at that price.

Have they gone up then? I thought Avid bleed kits were about £20?

Am I right in thinking that the Avid bleed kit will work with Formula brakes also?

thanks for that, even 2nd hand kits on ebay are going for more than that.

i think avid and formula kits work with each brake system, same fittings.

Yep Avid fit Forumula. Have used an avid kit to re-bleed my k18s to good effect.

I’m sure you can buy syringes and tubing for a few quid, it’s just getting the right fitment to stick in the caliper/reservoir.

£40 is a bloody joke for 2 syringes and some fittings.

You do get a tiny pot of brake fluid and an olive as well.. 😉

The tiniest bottle of DOT you can buy I think!

If anyone needs an avid kit I’ve got one, sans fluid (ie syringes and clips with tubing and connections). £14 posted.

    Hi,

Thank you for your order with Alpine Bikes – unfortunately the Avid Juicy Bleed Kit is now completely sold out. At the moment, we are not looking at re-stocking this item so I will need to cancel your order.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Thanks,

Oh, and buy your oil from a motorfactors or motorbike shop. Much cheaper than buying “bike” branded oil from a bike shop.

easily the most overpriced product I have come across in aaages. I have one and honestly, the only bits you couldn’t get scrounging around, or on ebay are the little brass bits that screw in the bleed port. I honestly cannot believe that the manufacturing cost of these kits is more than a couple of quid.

I agree, it’s probably the biggest piss-take I’ve come across as far as bike kit goes. I’m almost determined to find an alternative screw, even though I already have an official kit!

Totally overpriced, I made my own, I would post a pic but my camera has decided to not let me transfer the photos to my computer. The thread required is M5 if i remember correctly.
