Footballers don’t fail drugs tests; they simply don’t attend…

Rio Ferdinand’s 8 month ban and a £50K fine back in 2004 was, and still is laughable, I really don’t see how anyone could believe football is a “Clean sport”…

I wouldn’t take the take a low number of positives being returned as providing certainty of a lack of doping, there’s probably more money in football than cycling hence more incentive and more resources available to “successfully dope” and get away with it…

Money is really at the root of doping in any sport it was ultimately the at the core of the USPS/LaLa/UCI story and you can’t really call football a “poor” sport these days.
Any sport with significant investment going to teams/individuals from sponsors and organizing bodies looking to see high levels of performance will attract doping and the associated corruption and cover ups that goes with it…

“operation puerto to see how things are being swept under the carpet in other sports. Nadal, Barcelona and Real Madrid players all implicated but no further investigation”

IIRC Le Monde had to pay E15,000 compensation for making those allegations based on “false and unverified facts”.

Mind you, LA’s lawyers battered everybody into submission for 10 years…

It’s only cycling that’s dirty, those nice tennis chaps would never cheat.
