I know there are reported problems with press fit BB’s on mountain bikes, but are they a viable option on road bikes, in terms of reliability, etc?

I put a sleeved insert in mine made by FSA, so I could use HT2 BB’s. Been fine so far. No creaking and more available BB’s to use. It worried me that BB30’s seemed to be unreliable. CK do a press fit now, but guessing it wont be cheap.

Trouble is, HTII on road bikes can be a recipe for creak city.

1000 miles in and no noises yet.

I’m using Ultegra and just had to remove and regrease to stop creaking, same for its predecessor. Not a major issue, just a ball ache.
