My current model 29er Pike forks drive side / right side / charger side leg is leaking oil from the bottom after a seal change.

Do i need to use crush washers on both legs, as i’ve not fitted one on this side, on account of not noticing one when took it apart + it has a recessed head to the bolt?

Or am i missing something else, the rockshox manual states:

“Install a new o-ring into the top gland of a new bolt bottom bolt”.
Is that the large o-ring on the outside of the bolt?

    +

“Install a new spring clip in the lower gland of the shat bolt”.
    What’s this?

    All input appreciated 🙂

There is a standard black plastic crush washer that fits into a recess on the underside of the damper side bottom bolt, sharp pick will remove it and should stop any leaks.
On another not don’t over torque the bolt as they are quite soft aluminium and easy to shear/deform. HTH.

Thanks Loco, so i should have crush washers fitted to both legs (i have only fitted them on the non drive side so far. Also, do i sue the crush washer retainer on the drive side swell?

    big thank you in advance

Yes each bolt should have a black plastic crush washer on and the spring side should also have the silver metal washer over the plastic washer.
