Looking for some new photography forums just for fun.
    UK based or abroad.
Needs to be in English as its the only language I can read.

    I have already stumbled across
    http://www.photoforum.com.au/
    http://www.photomalaysia.com/

    Thanks

Dyxum is the best out there. It is Minolta/Sony though.
Luminous-landscape is good too, but more for the articles than the forum.

Not a forum but it improves your photography having to take as least one photo every day.

Several off here are on it, have a look through and ask for an invite

ephotozine was quite a good one for uploading your photos and getting some constructive feedback.

    and

    http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/

the former is massive, forums none to personal though, but they do very (!!) comprehensive gear reviews. Site as a whole gear focussed.

The latter is a real fave of mine, esp the “presentation” and “assignments” forums. Really great stuff, sometimes inspirational and critique good. Much less gear focussed than most others.

Fredmiranda also has the best mtbr style user review section.

If you are a Canon shooter then http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ is possibly the biggest forum going.

I gave up reading the DPreview forums a few years ago as it was flame central, with some really obnoxious posting

These all look like they can keep me entertained. Thanks.
I use canon but am happy to look at other ‘brand’ forums as many things overlap in photography.

Feel free to post more if you have them folks.

Another Talk Photography user here. Always some cracking pics to browse and folk seem very helpful if you need advice 🙂

I like TP also. And I agree that DPReview is often a cesspit of ‘measurebators’ and gear freaks who aren’t really interested in photography.

Thought I would bump this in case anyone else has links.

This place was OK when I used it.

Gave up a while back as photography forums are worse than bike forums for repeated topics and flame wars.

Should I go tubeless shoot RAW?
    What tyres lens for…
    Clipless Canon or flats Nikon

and that’s without even delving into the giant jerk circle that is critique or suggesting that you might want to sell/give away your photos or shoot a wedding.

+1 – excellent site and they do nice critiques and help improving your work too.

Never came across this (pardon the pun). Maybe I’m just not quite so sensitive.

I think I’m probably the insensitive one, people don’t like to hear that their photos suck, no matter how nice you are about it.

I had quite a few of mine crit’d on potn and most people had several negative points to make, though often surrounded by a “nice sandwich”. Seemed pretty good.
